* I picked the name NovaBabe because my birthday is in November, and TechGuy always calls me (and me only) Babe when he talks to me, or texts me (and his usual usernames usually involve Tech-something-or-other)
* I love animals, and have a long-haired rescue Dachshund named Houdini (his name was Max, but he didn't respond to it well. At nearly 2 when I got him in 2009, he escaped my backyard 8 times in the first 3 weeks... and after galavanting around the neighborhood, would come back to my front porch. I was kidding around, told him he was a houdini, and he perked up and wagged his tail. Tried again to the same response... so he picked his name!), and 2 Green Cheek Conures, Delucca and Yvaine. Delucca is a rescue, Yvaine was bought on sale at the petstore I work at. I picked her up, she cuddled up, and I knew I had to have her. We've had some ups and downs, but they both are my cuddle bugs. Also, call them both girls... but I don't know if they are, as I haven't had them DNA tested yet. We also currently have a bearded dragon named Spiro, a Lab/Aussie mix named Lady Mae, and my daughter's husky, Dagger.
* I have 3 stepkids. A girl who is 12 (B), and two boys (A and J). A is currently 17, and J is 10. Both have birthdays coming up... and both are on the Autistic spectrum. B is most likely going to come up with Bi-Polar, as all the women in her mother's family have it, for 2-3 generations.
* I also have a daughter who is only 9.5 years younger than me... my BabyDukes. She phrased it in a way I will never forget: "You may not have given me life, but Life gave me the gift of you." She is a huge part of my heart, and while I didn't raise her, she is mine.
* I love to read and write, and one day would love to be a published Author. I wrote a lot in my teen years, but got away from it in my early to mid-20s. And while I have lots of stories in my head, trying to get them organized, and then getting them down on pc is always problematic.

I'm hoping to find the time and a good enough story to inspire me.. I think I have one, but we will see.
* I was home-schooled from 5th grade on through graduation, and am one of 3 kids (the middle one)
* My favorite food is SUSHI! Especially anything involving Salmon
* I've been crocheting since I was 7 or so. I was a very sick child, but always wanted to be moving. Crochet was introduced, and it gave me the movement I needed while allowing me to rest otherwise to get better.
* I tend to turn something I love into an obsession. About 20 AG dolls, 3-4 30 gallon buckets of yarn, a duffel bag full of fat quarters (fabric quarters for sewing), etc.
* I did ballroom dancing for 6 years, and still love it, though I don't often dance anymore.
* I have the world's most amazing Grams.
* Dark Chocolate is my favorite. Any kind, other than with fruit or caramel (don't like those, lol)
* I love fresh fruit, but not most pie fillings. Fruit should be eaten how it comes from the bush/tree/vine.
